THE
BACKSTORY
The Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic oversees a region of Eastern-rite Catholics along the eastern seacoast of the United States.
Fr. Vasyl Chepelsky from their Office of Eastern Christian Formation contracted us to design a book to explain the basics of the Eastern Catholic liturgy and traditions. This book would guide Byzantine Catholics through a deeper dive into their faith. It would also invite Roman Catholics to come experience the Byzantine Rite by explaining their family relationship.
WHAT
WE DID
Thanks to our agency’s unique knowledge of Catholic traditions, we could intuitively design a book suited to the Eparchy’s objective. We flexed our creative muscles and enjoyed doing the research to keep everything accurate.
By being resourceful with the project budget, we created a beautiful and informative book with firm, glossy pages and striking visual imagery.
WHY IT
WORKS
The book is an immersive experience. We used rich colors, accents and calligraphy that reflect the character of the Byzantine Catholic rite. As you flip through the pages, you can almost smell the incense and hear the chant of the Divine Liturgy.
We wrote the text to be clear and comprehensive, so any reader can come to know the language of Byzantine Catholicism.
Everything works together to present the Byzantine Catholic experience as distinct yet accessible.
THE
RESULTS
Readers can now encounter a faith tradition that might otherwise feel foreign or mysterious. They are invited to deepen their life with God through Byzantine Catholic worship and customs, and they feel more comfortable and equipped to do so.
The Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic now promotes this book to show who they are and what they believe.
